Household pest control for Perth's northern suburbs
One family, low-odour treatments, and 28 years of knowing exactly where Perth pests hide. Tell us what you are seeing and we will give you a free quote.
We treat the pests that turn up in northern-suburbs homes, from a quick ant problem to a full spider spray before summer. Everything is done with chemicals that have little or no odour, so your family and pets are back to normal quickly. If you are not sure what you are dealing with, send us a photo or describe it on the phone, the advice is free.
Ant infestations in Perth homes are common and frustrating. Ants forage long distances, so although they are not poisonous, they are unsightly indoors, undermine paving, and some species give a nasty bite.
Signs: mounds in the lawn or paving; trails on the bench or kitchen bin; children bitten on the grass.
How we treat it: we inspect to identify the species, then bait, poisoning the trails back to the nests and then the nests themselves. Chemicals may include Indoxacarb, Hydramethylnon or Pyriproxyfen.
Around 2,000 species of spider live in Australia. Most help by controlling other insects, but some bites can be painful or dangerous, and almost all leave swelling and redness. Spiders mostly live in garden areas and the roof void, though some harbour inside.
How we treat it: a wet spray to the areas where spiders harbour, including windows and door frames, eaves and the garden perimeter. A Giant Huntsman can have a leg-span of around 30 cm.
In Australia the two of concern are German and American cockroaches. German cockroaches harbour in interior areas, mainly kitchen cupboards, the dishwasher, microwave and fridge. American cockroaches harbour externally but follow walls and plumbing inside to the kitchen and wet areas.
How we treat it: depending on the species, a wet spray to external areas or a gel application internally. Keep the house clean, take rubbish to the outdoor bins daily, and store food in sealed containers.
Silverfish harbour in dark, quiet, undisturbed spots like wardrobes, linen closets and roof voids. They are a fabric pest, eating stored linen, clothing, books and paper, and have developed immunity to many insecticides, so they really do need a well-equipped professional.
Tips: store unused clothing and blankets in vacuum-sealed bags, books and papers in sealed plastic crates, and avoid cardboard boxes for storage.
Fleas are a wingless parasite that feeds on the blood of a host. Their narrow bodies let them move quickly through fur, and strong rear legs let one flea jump 30,000 times without stopping.
Tips: clean animal bedding regularly, treat pets with a reputable flea treatment per the directions, and vacuum often. We treat the home where an infestation has taken hold.
Unlike bees, wasps can sting multiple times. They build nests under fence-capping, eaves and window frames, around the garden shed, under patio furniture, on external walls or in the lawn.
How we treat it: a wet spray chemical application. No preparation is required from you.
There are about 1,650 native bee species in Australia, and roughly one third of the food we eat relies on bee pollination. Wherever we can, we would rather help bees than harm them. If you have a swarm or a problem nest, call us and we will advise the right course.
How to help bees: don't kill them, plant bee-attracting flowers, buy local honey, and protect their habitat.
Australia has three main problem rodent species. They gnaw and damage buildings, contaminate food and living spaces with their droppings, and leave a distinct, pungent odour. They are nocturnal, so you often hear or smell them before you see them.
Tips: store food in airtight containers, cut household and garden clutter, put rubbish in external bins each night, and clean up pet food, dog faeces and aviary feed.
We only use chemicals with little or no odour, all work is completed to the Australian Standards, and we are registered with the Health Department of WA, hold current National Police clearances and are fully insured. We are happy to explain exactly what we are using before we start.
